Coming Holidays
For months we have been busy planning the end of year holidays, with particular focus on the traditional New Year's Eve Gala dinner, and we are delighted to present the program for the d'Angleterre New Year's Gala 2014:
We are delighted to present Antonelli Orchestra, who will take us through the evening and into the new year in a festive manner, but there are other surprises in the pipeline too:
Our Head Chef Ronny Emborg, who was recently awarded a Michelin star for the second time, has created an extraordinary New Year's menu, accompanied by wine and champagne out of the ordinary.
We are now open for reservations, so please write to event@dangleterre.com, if the new year is to be greeted at the grandest address in Copenhagen.
In the planning of the year, we have also cemented another very important date; Our Christmas decorations will be lit the 14th November at 5pm. We look forward to be giving you more information on this, and Christmas packages in general, after the summer.
Summer recommendations from our Concierge
We have asked our concierge team to give their suggestions on five things not to miss this summer in Copenhagen:
1. Roskilde Festival 29th June - 6th July The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Arctic Monkeys, Major Lazer are names that speaks for themselves. Roskilde Festival is a must for the music lovers.
2. Jazz Festival 4th July - 13th July When Copenhagen Jazz Festival hits Copenhagen, the city is transformed. Music is everywhere; on town squares and in parks, at cafés and bars, at theatres and in museums and not least, in the beautiful concert halls of Copenhagen. Through the 10 days of the festival, over 1000 concerts will take place, split over 100 stages around Copenhagen and visited by over 250'000 happy guests, proving that music thrives in this historic city of jazz.
3. Opera Festival 27th July - 3rd August The streets, halls, stages, churches, canals and private homes of Copenhagen overflow with opera for one week, when Copenhagen Opera Festival 2014, presents Danish and international world class artists. Prepare to experience drama and seductive singing in unexpected places.
4. Maritime Museum of Denmark in Elsinore Awards and recognitions have since the start of 2014 bestowed upon this underground museum, and in January the New York Times chose to place the Maritime Museum in Denmark on the prestigious list of "52 places to go in 2014". Shortly after, the international design magazine FRAME featured the museum's design display as no 2 on the list of the 10 most interesting current design displays in the world.
5. Copenhagen Street Food at Paper Island In the bare halls on Paper Island, a new concept is developing: Copenhagen Street Food – a colourful and popular street market right in the heart of Copenhagen, with a view of the Playhouse and the Opera. Copenhagen Street Food is not just for foodies and street food enthusiasts, as musicians, artists and people with a desire for food help create unique and delightful experiences that produce smiles and healthy appetites.
