The taste of autumn

Summer is ending and the long days have quickly become shorter, but every season has its charm.

Autumn is full of pleasant moments and we have made a small selection of what you can experience, taste and see inside and outside our hotel over the coming period.

We are looking forward to welcome an autumn devoted to
gastronomy and self-indulgence.
Exclusive Nomination Dinner at Marchal
Marchal has enjoyed a lot of success, since we opened on 1 May 2013. International recognition, TV programs and an acknowledged Michelin star have made its start very special. And we go on relentlessly.
Most recently, Den Danske Spiseguide (the Danish Dining Guide) has nominated us for "Restaurant of the Year 2014" and our head chef Ronny Emborg has also been nominated for "Chef of the Year 2014". Ever since 1978, Den Danske Spiseguide has been one of Denmark's trend-setting gastronomic front-runners. Needless to say,
this recognition will be celebrated with a proper
nomination dinner.
This is why on 13 September, we will host an exclusive evening offering excellence on the menu.
After a grandiose welcome with champagne, jazz band and snacks, Ronny Emborg will present 11 unique gourmet dishes with matching wine selection.
There are only 10 seats available for this exceptional nomination dinner to celebrate a fantastic year and look forward to the new one.
Reservations: Please contact Marchal at +45 3312 0094 or marchal@dangleterre.com.

The Concierge's Autumn Recommendations
The autumn and the lower temperatures do not mean that Copenhagen is shutting down for the winter. There will be a lot of things going on in Copenhagen in the next few months and we have compiled Anders Ruggiero's five suggestions for things to do in the autumn.

1. Halloween in Tivoli from 10 October to 2 November
Visit Tivoli this autumn and meet a host of delightful witches and scary monsters. In the daytime all that is eerie is made to look nice and there will be witch shows, a straw bale labyrinth and scarecrows wrapped up in cobwebs. When the darkness falls in Tivoli, Hotel Scary opens up its doors. Pay a visit – if you dare.

2. Exhibition: Hans J. Wegner – "Just One Good Chair" until 7 December
Designmuseum Danmark celebrates the 100th anniversary of Hans J. Wegner's birth with the exhibition "Hans J. Wegner – Just One Good Chair". Wegner got his breakthrough in1949 with "The Chair", creating more than 500 chairs throughout his successful career. The exhibition shows original drawings, models, pictures and early furniture, offering the chance to give some of Wegner's best pieces of furniture a try.

3. Visit the Christiansborg Palace Tower
In June, the Christiansborg Palace opened its doors for visitors to Copenhagen's highest tower. The tower, 106 metres tall, guarantees a magnificent view of the city rooftops. You can access the tower free of charge, but if you want to spice up your experience, you can dine in the tower's restaurant, Tårnet. In the restaurant you can enjoy the Danish cousin with a modern twist, while enjoying the beautiful view.

4. Copenhagen Chamber Music Festival 17-20 September
Experience world-class chamber music during the Copenhagen Chamber Music Festival when Danish and international musicians come together on one and the same stage. The majority of the concerts, as well as the opening event, will take place in Den Sorte Diamant (The Black Diamond), but you can also enjoy concerts in the Mogens Dahl Concert Hall, the Round Tower and St. Andrew's Church. You can read more about the festival and order tickets at www.ccmf.dk.

5. Louisiana Museum of Modern Art: Emil Nolde until 19 October
This Autumn, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art displays the most comprehensive retrospective of Emil Nolde in several decades. Louisiana displays 150 of the artist's works, which cover all his paintings, watercolours, drawings and graphics, many of which have never been displayed before. The exhibition follows a loose chronology starting with his early works and ending with unpainted pictures.
