Christmas and New Year at d'Angleterre are something quite special.

Balthazar turns two
Last week, Balthazar celebrated its 2nd birthday with a spectacular baroque bash. In grandiose Marie Antoinette style, guests were received by waitresses in magnificent dresses, harpists with flamboyant updos, a noble horse-drawn carriage and much more.
Balthazar was the first to open after d'Angleterre's renovation – which makes it a year older than both d'Angleterre and Marchal.

Best in Copenhagen. Best in Northern Europe
In October, d'Angleterre had the honour of being named Best Hotel in Copenhagen at the annual Danish Travel Award, where the entire Danish travel industry gathered to honour excellence in the industry.
D'Angleterre is also proud to have been named the Best Hotel in the Nordic countries by the luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller. Condé Nast Traveller awarded the international travel industry's most prestigious award, their Readers' Travel Award, on the basis of more than one million votes. Readers named d'Angleterre the Best in Scandinavia and the other Nordic countries, and on the list of hotels in all of Europe and Russia d'Angleterre's overall ranking was 15th.
Marchal: Restaurant of the Year
The exclusive guide to Danish restaurants, Den Danske Spiseguide, named Marchal Restaurant of the Year for 2014 when representatives from the gastronomic elite attended a gala dinner at Hotel Frederiksminde on the island of Præstø on 26th October.

In his commentary, Bent Christensen, editor of Den Danske Spiseguide, said about Marchal:
- It is the obvious enthusiasm and the combination of cuisine, wine list, atmosphere and service. Nothing has been overlooked. Copenhagen now has a world-class hotel restaurant.

Marchal was proud to be selected from among other outstanding nominees such as AOC, Studio and Noma.

New Year's gala
In keeping with tradition, this year we will again be hosting a lavish New Year's Eve party in our beautiful surroundings here at d'Angleterre.
This year, The Antonelli Orchestra, and others, will accompany us throughout this gala evening and bring us merrily onto the New Year.
Head Chef Ronny Emborg, honoured last spring with a Michelin Star for the second time, has composed an extraordinary New Year's Eve menu, which will be accompanied by champagne and exquisite wines.
