Stars of Copenhagen The Michelin Nordic Guide 2016 was released in late February. d’Angleterre provided the venue for the long expected event, and expectations were great when the international director of the Michelin Guide, Michael Ellis, announced the names of the new Nordic gourmet stars. Copenhagen has become an attractive destination for people looking for gastronomic adventure – both inside and outside the kitchen. According to Michael Ellis, chefs all over the world are talking about the current development in the Nordic countries – Denmark in particular. And he calls the young generation of Danish chefs ‘burgeoning,’ while emphasising that Danish chefs are excellent at finding good suppliers and quality ingredients. Copenhagen is now the Nordic capital with the most Michelin stars, and applause echoed through the golden rooms of the d’Angleterre when Geranium, as the first restaurant in the Nordic countries, was awarded three prestigious stars. The signature Marchal restaurant at d’Angleterre also retained its star and remains one of 16 Michelin starred restaurants in Copenhagen.

Iconic suite returns to the d’Angleterre
The d’Angleterre has a total of 90 rooms and suites – of which 60 are suites. But for as long as the hotel has existed one suite in particular has been special, due to its unique mystique and soul: Suite 111. The south- and east-facing suite is located on the first floor on the corner of Kongens Nytorv and Strøget and is equipped with the characteristic high ceilings and beautiful oak flooring unique to this floor, which also makes this spectacular suite ideal for private events.
Suite 111 is one-of-a-kind – a two-bedroom suite. Due to its location on the corner of Kongens Nytorv and Strøget the suite can be combined with the Royal Suite and the remaining rooms facing the square – and it will thus be possible to rent the entire first floor from Hovedvagtsgade to Strøget. This iconic suite was the last to be renovated during the recent renovation of the hotel – and it will become available for bookings this spring.

Eating your way to beauty
The founder and owner of Amazing Space, Laura Bonné, and dietitian Sally Walker have co-authored the just published book, Beauty Foods.
Beauty Foods is a different kind of beauty guide, focusing on what is inside and on combining inner and outer beauty care. The book is a beauty guide with clear descriptions of how a specific diet can promote inner well-being and outer beauty. In connection with the release of Beauty Foods, Amazing Space has launched the product series Health & Beauty Nutrition, complementing the tips and recipes in the book. Both the book and products are available at the Amazing Space spa at the d’Angleterre.

Condé Nast Gold List 2016
Each year, the well-travelled editors and writers from the US edition of Condé Nast Traveler select the best hotels in the world for the most prestigious list in the travel industry. Only a very small number of the world’s hundreds of thousands of hotels are selected for this attractive list, and being accepted for the Gold List is considered a major achievement reserved only for the very best hotels on the planet.
The Condé Nast Traveller Gold List 2016 has just been released, and we are proud to announce that the d’Angleterre is featured on the list. Only two Nordic hotels have been accepted on the Gold List: d’Angleterre and The Thief in Oslo.
If you are looking for inspiration for future journeys we can thoroughly recommend browsing the full list here.
In January the d’Angleterre also received the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice award.
