will yet again shine on “The White Lady”.
 
The long days and beautiful Scandinavian summer evenings mean Copenhagen will be filled with exciting things to see and do.
  
We have gathered a few recommendations for the season below and wish all of you a lovely summer.
 
Marchal in open air
Marchal has once again expanded the restaurant onto the terrace. The terrace is now open daily from noon and is available for both in-house guests and visitors to enjoy a drink or a delicious meal.
 
Hopefully, lunch will be accompanied by warm weather.
On chilly evenings, heating lamps and lap blankets make it possible for our guests to enjoy the terrace until late at night.

Marchal’s Head Chef in the States
Last week, Marchal's Head Chef, Andreas Bagh, visited San Francisco to promote and represent Danish gastronomy to an exclusive group of travel and food media from "The Bay Area" invited by VisitDenmark.
In the chic environment of San Francisco’s Cook House,
22 journalists and editors were given the opportunity to observe Andreas Bagh and his team prepare several courses in the open kitchen and then enjoy them afterwards.
Several of the dishes that represented the Danish cuisine are also available on Marchal’s menu. Among them, Marchal’s Signature dish: Squid with oysters, caviar, champagne butter and cucumber.

Copenhagen Cooking & Food festival
The Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival is an annual event celebrating the extraordinary culinary culture of Denmark in general - and Copenhagen in particular.
The festival is for everyone who loves food and presents more than 100 unique events over 10 days at the end of August. Around 80.000 visitors participate every year in this tribute to the Nordic kitchen, the produce of the season and a variety of intriguing culinary experiences. Read more here.
 
The Academy of Tal R at Louisiana
Danish Tal R is one of the most striking artists of his generation with a strong and growing international reputation. Since the 1990s, he has exhibited all around the world, particularly in Europe, and his art is represented in many major collections.
From May 20 to September 10, visitors can admire
the large Tal R installation at Louisiana - the extraordinary art museum and outdoor exposition park a half hour
from Copenhagen.

Open air swimming in the Harbor 
Open air swimming right in the center of the city?
On hot days, Copenhageners swim with the backdrop of the city's skyline. There are five pools – two specifically for children; the shallowest is just 30 cm deep. 
There are three diving towers: one, three, and five meters high. The pools’ water quality is checked daily.

New summer treats at Balthazar
With the approach of summer, some new tropical additions have found their way onto Balthazar’s cocktail menu.
“Miracles” is based on an old Tiki cocktail known as
“Navy Grog” - but at Balthazar we’ve enhanced the tropical and heady experience by replacing sparkling water with Champagne. The combination of the sweetness of the rum, fresh lime and grapefruit immediately zoom the drinker to a more exotic climate.
 
Welcome summer with a taste of the new “Miracles” and other new concoctions - or stay with the classic Espresso Martini or Downton Abbey.
